The Vestibutitis Diary – Part 1: Devastated

22 Days Before Surgery

Vestibulitis Diaries part 1- devastated

I have had a chronic pain condition for about two years. I have put in a lot of time and effort into healing myself and taking care. I have literally changed my life because of it. Basically, I am at a point where I need a simple surgery to remove a reactive piece of tissue.

I was scheduled for a surgery in July which got pushed back to August. The day before my surgery was scheduled, it was cancelled because my insurance company never gave the authorization. They eventually denied it.

I spent the last month gathering my resources, getting records, and letters, and medical documentation. I put together a hell of an appeal.

Today I found out that they denied that appeal.

I still have options and anger to burn fighting the fight, but today I feel laid to waste. The pic isn’t creative, or even technically good, or even pretty, but it is real.

Next entry – Authorization

This is the story of Arashi, visual artist, writer and sex-positive vestibulitis patient and her surgical choice to heal her condition.
