LELO Isla Vibrator Review

Most women shop for a penetrative vibrator by size. And by size I mean by WIDTH. We tend to prefer width over length, at least as far as insertibles go. If you’re looking for a toy with the circumference of your perfect man, you may want to keep looking. If you’re looking for skills that no man – however perfect – can have with his anatomical parts, may I introduce the Isla.

Although Isla is slim – by anyone’s standards – the slight curve, varied girth and comfortable grip makes it great for manipulation; it can reach any of those internal or external hotspots, as deep or as shallow as you like.

The light weight is quite unexpected in an insertible vibe of this size. At a mere 165g, you can play as long as you want without feeling it on your wrist.

Isla is incredibly powerful. Its starts off whispering but builds up to a frantic buzz, so is covers a very wide range of vibration needs. This makes it as good for clitoral play (or anywhere else on your body) as it does for vaginal stimulation.

Like the other members of the Insignia range, Isla has a finger grip built in to the base of the toy, so that it is unusually comfortable to grip and to maneuver internally and externally. It is accessible enough, in fact, for women with hand mobility problems in which a tight grip is not possible. Everyone, though, can benefit from a vibrator which won’t leave your fingers aching if used for extended stretches of time (which Isla is certainly up for).

The luxurious smoothness of Lelo products is almost their trademark, when you feel it you know you have premium silicone in your hands. This is slightly toned down by the mixture of silicone with hard plastic. The silver-like ABS plastic gives Isla its stylish look and light weight, but the border between the two materials can be slightly awkward for some. Having said that, others can find it to give some extra tinge of feeling if you twist it sideways on sensitive areas. The variation is quite delicate so it may not be of significance to a less sensitive woman.

Rechargeability cannot be praised enough. It is the future of vibrators, at least the better ones. Sure, it adds to the bill, but it pays off in so many ways: of course on top of the list of benefits is that it is green! No more batteries to use and dispose of, no more running out of power or slowly winding down strength. A rechargeable vibrator does not carry the excess weight of batteries, but rather has a small lithium battery inside. The are no cords attached to the vibrator when in use. The charging point is tiny; it has a silicone cover so it is easily plugged in for recharging but remains almost invisible and waterproof when not being charged.

Isla is made by LELO, the Swedish manufacturers of high-end products such as the GIGI, the NEA, the BILLY and more. It is part of the exclusive Insignia series, which includes the SORAYA an ALIA.

Enjoy the little Insignia brooch that comes along with the box.
